Now why is it "right on time?" you might ask.

Hoodie for Blank Quilting

Now just to be clear Blank is not a Japanese company but Hoodie is a Japanese designer (not to mention absolutely adorable, super sweet and one of my personal favorites!) So the following is just from Hoodie, none of Blank's other designers.

MoMo for Moda

The same can be said for MoMo as for Hoodie. 

MoMo is an amazingly talented Japanese designer working for an American company. And we just love her. These photo's are of her new line only and none of the other Moda designers.

Delivery

Yippy! The first boxful of Japanese fabrics arrived today. We oohhhed and awed while Mom quickly pulled them out. Each print was just as special as the next.
I always love being in the shoppe with mom but especially when we get deliveries like these!
I just LOVE Japanese!!!

And I think Aelyn might like it too.

Here she is taking her pick of the bunch :)

Ummmmm, wow!

The delicious fabrics were barely out of their plastic before being cut off their bolts. Emily Westenhouser, an awesome customer and talented creator of Umbrella Girl Productions, took the first few tastes.

And of course I couldn't go home without taking some of these new goodies for myself!
Oh man, I can't wait to sew them up. I must make a dress for AV with that adorable little deer print. And this blue beauty (the matryoshka dolls, above) needs be my new summer bag, with red and white polka dots on the inside.... smile.... sigh....

Okay yeah....
.......so I'm a little fabric happy.

What more can I say.

Stoked

Not a word I often use, but an excellent way to describe how these recently received threads make me feel.
We were very happy to find out we could get these super awesome Echino Scooters back into the Shoppe. Often with the Japanese fabrics we order there is a very limited availability and many times we can't reorder them. But this Etsuko Furuya lady is in high demand and seamsters must have raved enough to get 'em to give us* some more!
*by "us" I mean the sewing world at large, not just us, we're not that special... at least not yet anyway. :)
In addition to getting the Scooters back we also ordered in this beautiful airplane block print. The retro color combos and cheater cloth style of this print had me instantly falling in love....

ohhh so yummy... what will we make from you?...

Also we should have another one or two Echino prints coming. One of which is an amazing retro, stenciled car, stamp type print that I cant wait to play with. I'll be sure and share that one too.

But getting back to the topic of whats in the shoppe right now... our Mr. UPS man dropped off several more Alexander Henry prints, some lovely Denyse Schmidt fabric, Anna Maria fabrics and some other goodies that you'll just have to come in to see!

Oh but wait!!! I can't believe I almost forgot! .... Anna Maria Horner's new patterns are here! Four total - a skirt, a dress and two bags. The designs are exquisite, the pattern photos are drool worthy and even the shipping had charm as the whole stack was safely wrapped in a tissue paper dress pattern and sealed with her signature sticker. I didn't take any pictures of these but perhaps I'll share some in the near future, as well as photos of the dress that Mom has nearly completed.

Party Preparations and New Goodies too!

Hello shoppe blog sewer friends,
It has been nearly a month since my last post. I haven't meant to be neglectful, I've just been busy busy busy. Between trying to help out around the shoppe while simultaneously chasing baby, sewing feverishly through nap time, enjoying time outdoors, and trying not to be too neglectful of my housework and sweet husband, the blog just slipped onto the back burner for a bit.
But now I'm here, excitedly typing, because there are such wonderful things to announce.

First PARTY time is less than four days away!
Our Birthday Celebration is this Saturday, March 14th, from 11-5! Stop in to put your name in the jar for our "every half hour" prize drawing. Your name will stay in the jar all day so you don't have to be present to win! The prizes are awesome and I must say I'm almost jealous because being the daughter of the shoppe owner renders me disqualified to win (but don't worry about me, I get my perks too:} ).

Second, yesterday we received a wonderful shipment of NEW goods.

Two beautiful New books, hot off the press...
Heather Ross' new book "Weekend Sewing". Gorgeous, fresh and inspirational with stunning photography. This book is filled with great projects including many lovely dresses! and comes with patterns!

Sewing Green by Betz White is all about inspiring us to reduce our waste and reuse what we have. Amazingly creative, with diverse projects, her book includes templets and patterns. This lady breathes new life into ideas that have been around for decades. She shares ways to save money while not sacrificing a bit of style.

Several fun New Japanese treasures. Fabric from Kokka as well as some beautifully made Japanese trims...

This kitty print has the sweetest salvage edge I've ever seen!

Also, we have some new Alexander Henry fabrics recently , a couple lovely new patterns for little girl attire by an awesome indie designer called Sugar City and tons of fun new shoppe samples as well as gift ideas for all ages.
