Janelle's Scottie, Fabric and The Paper

Made as a gift and soon to be shipped, I had to steal away this little scottie for a quick photo shoot. Super cute softies must be shared.

The pattern is a freebie from the wonderful Denyse Schmidt. You can get it from her site or simply click here. Janelle opted not to embellish her scottie with eyes and a scarf or collar. She said she couldn't find the right buttons for his eyes that didn't make him look scary. I laughed, but only because I'm familiar with this dilemma. Anyhow, I support her design decision to leave him this way, because he's super cute just as he is!

Designer Denyse Schmidt is also the genius behind my current favorite fabric line Hope Valley. And now that I've mentioned it I realize that I never shared photo's of these beauties with you here (only here and here and here)... oops, sorry 'bout that.

Here you go.

These prints have been in the shoppe for a few weeks now but a bit newer, from Denyse, are 4 great quilt patterns. Traditional with a vintage-modern charm, they make me look forward to my up coming quilt class with Mary, even more than I already am.

And one last share before I go...

My awesome mom (Anita) is in the paper today! Yay! I am so happy and proud.
She was interviewed last week for a Q&A article about our little shoppe. Find it in the Life and Arts section of today's Columbus Dispatch under "Shop Talk". Or view the article online, here.

That's all for now,
:) April

Old friends. New friends.

Some old friends have return and some new friends will soon arrive.

First, the much anticipated Amy Butler reprints (Classics) have started coming in, beginning with the much loved Full Moon Polka Dots in camel, tangerine and slate, as well as several other beauties including one of my AB favorites, Lacework.

As for the new friends I mentioned:

(Update They're HERE!)

My mom and I had the chance to see, feel and swoon over Anna Maria Horner's newest fabrics, Little Folks and Dobby Dots.

Man! Are they amazing.

The Little Folks voile's are ultra soft, with great drape and a wide color palette. The perfect material for today's sewers who do it all, from quilting to garments to simple home linens, etcetera. Her Dobby Dots are simultaneously gorgeous and adorable. Their fun nubby texture, colors and stripes provoke a vintage quality. I can't wait to get my hands on these. I've been dreaming of them ever since she published this on her blog... but now since seeing them in the flesh (or should I say thread) I'm really going to have to try hard not to obsess.

(And HERE too!)

All new Anna Maria is due to arrive in December.

Along with these Freespirit Fabrics we are also awaiting Denyse Shmidt's new line Hope Valley. We put our order in a few weeks ago and they are all so brilliant that we ordered the entire line. We should start to see those in the shoppe in December as well.
